Our Two Worlds: The Visible And Invisible Realms
For everything that exists in the physical world, there is a reflection — a mirror image — in energetic form that exists in the invisible world. If we are to understand the complete makeup of our lives and the world around us, some consideration and understanding needs to be given to these two parts of our world. Out of the range of sight and beyond perception of the physical world and senses, is a duplicate copy of the energy of the world in which we live. In our community, we refer to this in terms such as the astral world, the universe and heaven. This is also the place where an invisible counterpart to each of us exists — an energetic double to our physical body. Both worlds are interrelated and interconnected. For every event on the earth plane that affects our physical form, a similar impact is being made on our invisible body in the unseen world.
Many of us have difficulty embracing the idea of two worlds because of the influence of religious concepts such as Heaven and Hell. We often attribute the same notions as a spiritual understanding of the physical world in which we are incarnate, and the invisible world. However, the spiritual path diverges from religious dogma, based upon the idea that humankind is powerful in the face of the demands of life and the world around us. We are not beggars, subjected to retaliation by a vengeful God for our actions in life. We have a physical body and an invisible counterpart as a vehicle for transcending the physical world and our senses. Our psychic senses are the tools we use to come to know and travel the unseen world. The astral world is a place of co-existence for our physical life and world.
We make our way through everyday life in a material world, composed of a dense range of vibrations perceived by the five physical senses. The unseen or invisible world exists beyond the range of physical vibrations. In order to journey in the world that exists beyond the physical senses, we have five corresponding psychic senses. We are born with these twin sets of senses. For many, the psychic senses atrophy from the moment of our birth on, and then slowly accelerate as we approach the later years of life. It is essential to understand that our psychic senses are our vehicle for first-hand spiritual knowing. Otherwise, the total of our spiritual journey will remain in the physical realm, in our minds and remaining an intellectual and abstract experience.
When we first begin our spiritual journey, there is a need to cleanse and purify the vibration in our bodies. From our first breath, we become more and more influenced by the earth plane, and vibrate out of harmony with the universal energy, because of our environment and life events. As we begin to respond to the inner-voice, which plays a major role in our unfolding, we begin to realize how out of step we are with the planetary and universal vibrations. Practices like meditation, yoga breath and even physical exercise start us on the path to coming back into harmony within ourselves. From there we reconnect with the finer vibrations, the more subtle energy of our world and the universe.
During this time, when our energy is lower and our vibration is in need of a boost, contact with the invisible world may prove to be a varied and emotional experience. There is a possibility, at the beginning of our sojourn, that we may begin our connection with the astral at the lower ranges of the vibration. One of the major reasons we can feel turned off to the unseen world is because of the energetic content of the lower astral. At this place, nearest in vibration to our world, just a bit beyond physical perception is where less evolved energy may be trapped. This is the place of the tricksters and even entities that can feel dangerous or evil.
In order to embrace the idea of an invisible counterpart to our physical being and world also requires a bit of imagination, a change in belief, and a leap of faith. We are raised in solid materialism, to believe in only that which can be perceived by the physical senses. Our perception of life is built on the physical senses. Only that which we can see, hear, touch, taste, or smell, is what we think of as reality. The idea of embracing the unseen world, challenges the very foundation of our way of life. For most of us, just keeping track of what is happening in the range of our physical existence can be very demanding and all consuming. The very idea that there are two parts of us, one in the visible and another in the invisible world can feel a bit overwhelming. Especially when we believe we are only in control of one-half of the whole story.
To begin to understand the life of our invisible counterpart and the astral plane, we need to start with some notion of that part of our universe. The simple act of beginning to develop a personal belief structure about the unseen world creates experiences on the earth plane that will help us come into first-hand knowing. By taking this step, we begin to entertain a new way of thinking about the unseen world. One way of doing this is to start by conceptualizing the invisible world as a mirror of the world in which we live. Think of the physical world in which we live. There are people who are different from us, and live in parts of the world we have not visited. Since we have no knowledge or basis with which to compare our world to theirs, the content of their everyday life is foreign to us. Then, there are other people who we can relate to and want to know, while others may be of no interest, or even scary. Perhaps there are language differences, values and beliefs. What may be important to them may seem secondary to us. This type of mental exercise can help us to stretch our thinking muscle and begin the process of conceptualizing the astral world.
To begin to develop a relationship and embrace the invisible part of our life is one of the most important steps on our journey. Living with a waking consciousness of the dual nature of the universe in the forefront of our minds, starts to bring profound changes in our inner life, as well as in our outer world. We also step into the realm of self-mastery, as we begin think about ourselves in the highest forms of pure being, and embrace all that we are. The energy, vibration, knowledge and support that exists in the unseen world, influences our lives, not only as individuals, but also for the whole of humankind. On some level, we are always in touch with the creative nature of the universe, which sustains the ever-unfolding nature of our world. As we begin to deepen our spiritual intent, and harmonize our minds and bodies, those influences become more clearly known to us. The flow of information comes through contact on a subconscious level, with the super-consciousness (the mind of God) to then being known in our consciousness.
Integrating this idea of the influence created in our lives from the unseen world is an important key to understanding the earth changes we are now experiencing, and are about to experience in the upcoming months. As the creative energy of the universe shifts, so does the content of energy and life on the earth plane. We tend to think of earth energy as being static in some ways and personalize our view of life and the world around us. There are times when we feel like the events of our personal life are separate from the world around us. This is never the case. In fact, we often fail to include the idea of energies and influences from outside of us as a major cause for the way our lives look and feel today.
Here is a series of questions for you to journal, meditate, or pray on during the next month.
What are my beliefs about the unseen world?
Do I need to expand my awareness?
Do I have a sense of a first-hand connection with the unseen energy of the universe?
How can I expand and strengthen my bond with the creative energy of the universe?
